To schedule a bulk item pickup through the City of Vancouver, you can book your collection online at vancouver.ca or call 3-1-1. It is recommended to schedule your pickup at least one week in advance, though you must book at least 24 hours before your preferred date.
When preparing for a municipal pickup, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Set-out Time: Place your items at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled day, but no earlier than the evening before.
- Item Limits: Each item must weigh less than 50 kg (110 lbs) and be under 6 feet in length. Branches should be bundled in 1.2-meter lengths.
- Preparation: Remove doors from appliances like fridges or freezers and tape down any loose parts.
- Accepted Items: The city typically accepts furniture, mattresses, appliances (without Freon), and scrap metal. They do not accept hazardous waste, electronics, tires, or construction debris.
If you have renovation leftovers, large amounts of yard waste, or items the city won’t take, we can help. We provide professional landscape services that include bulky waste removal as part of our seasonal cleanups and residential landscape maintenance. We serve the entire Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, offering a convenient alternative where we handle all the heavy lifting and hauling for you.
